High Point Community Theatre is an organization that strives to provide opportunities for people in the community, inspire appreciation of dramatic arts and educate future generations. This local theater provides opportunities for community involvement, appreciation of dramatic arts, and education.

They produce a variety of shows each season at High Point Community Theatre. Whether you’re in the audience or on the stage, there is always something here for everyone. The Troupe is the junior theater festival competition team at HPCT. The audition includes vocals and dance, as well as written recommendations to enter this competitive group that focuses on providing participants an advanced environment for youth performers who want a loving professional setting in which they can grow while also performing their craft.

Situated at 121 S Centennial St, High Point, NC area, High Point Community Theatre produces plays and musicals that are run by the actors of High Point. They have produced multiple all-youth shows this season, including “Sherlock Holmes & The First Baker Street Irregular.”

Also, The High Point Community Theatre offers a multi-week summer camp that ends with several public performances. This year, the musical “Seussical Jr” performed for those who attended the camp show.

The Community Theatre offers an unforgettable experience for the whole family with their summer productions. This year, they presented “Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.” Field trips aren’t just limited to producing shows; every season has multiple opportunities so that schools can attend at discounted rates, including holiday classic ‘A Christmas Carol: The Musical.

The theatre will give you an opportunity to take part in their auditions. You only need to present one session unless they ask for more intense work with the director, and additional callbacks are needed, but this is rare.

The HPCT has said that everyone must bring headshots or resumes if possible- they suggest doing both so it saves time during paperwork later on down the line (this isn’t required). It also helps reduce anxiety about forgetting anything important because there’s nothing worse than being unprepared before your big moment on stage.

Auditions are required for all types of productions at High Point Community Theatre. You will be asked to read from the script, sing a cut-of memorized song (check with specific requirements as they vary per production), and/or learn an introductory dance routine with no flip flops. Audition informational sheet provided upon arrival; make sure you pack something comfortable because this process may take a while.

They need your help. Become a part of the HPCT team by volunteering with them. You’ll make new friends while having fun at an event or two, and they might just get to give you some great perks in return too.
